ABOUT
Nouf Aljowaysir is a Saudi visual artist whose work navigates the intersections of identity, memory, and AI-generated imagery. She creates narratives that move between archival truth and digital speculation, questioning how technologies, from colonial photography to contemporary machine learning, shape the ways bodies and histories are seen. Her exhibitions include Salaf at East Window (2024) and group presentations at Jeu de Paume (Paris), Photo Elysée (Lausanne), M+ Museum (Hong Kong), Asia Now (Paris), and the upcoming Imaging After Photography at Moody Center for the Arts (Houston, 2026). Her work has been recognized by The New York Times Op-Docs, the Lumen Prize, Somerset House, the Alan Turing Institute, and the CVPR Gallery. Her projects have been featured in the British Journal of Photography, JBE Books, Fisheye Magazine, and Slanted Magazine. Born in 1993 in Riyadh, she lives and works in New York City.
